What should we do in difficult times?

No matter who you are, we are all subject to having moments where we are in the valley. We will go through circumstances and situations that test our faith and stretch our ability. We will feel as if the storm goes on, indefinitely. So what do we do in these times when everything seems to be coming against us? Well, as Christians, we have the benefit of the power and strength of the Creator of the Universe on our sides.

We know that when we are in the middle of struggles we can look to our Father in Heaven in prayer for peace, comfort, courage and strength to make it through any trial or tribulation that we may face. Our relationship with God and our trust in him can be deepened when we choose to lean on him in prayer during the rough spaces in life.

What does the bible say about strength and courage?

Throughout the bible the word of the Lord is clear, in our weakest moments, God’s power is true. We do not need to be strong in anyway other than faith and believe that he fights our battles, when we humble ourselves. In fact, 2 Corinthians 12:9 is a famous verse on this very thought! It reads:

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

This bible verse about strength reminds us that our weaknesses are actually a point to rejoice in because in our lack of strength and weaknesses, the power of Christ can rest upon us.

You do this independent of anything I have done. You care for me, despite me, and I praise Your name for this.
