How do you pray for strong faith?
If you have every found yourself asking the questions: How do I strengthen my faith in God? How do you walk in faith? You are in good company! So many of us find ourselves in places where we feel like the Father in Mark 9:24 who says: “I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief.”
This scripture hits most of us because we know what we believe and yet we still find ourselves in places where doubts co-exist in the midst of our big faith.
For many years I had no trouble believing the power of the resurrection. There was nothing that could cause me to waver in this faith, and yet, when it came to believing God could move in the little things in life. I did not have the same trust and belief. I knew that God COULD, but my doubt resided in the pace where I doubted he would because of some personal flaw on my part!
I want to encourage you that praying for faith in the spaces that you struggle does not make you weak. Prayer is meant to be a conversation with the Father and we are told in 1 Peter 5:7 that we should cast our cares on the Lord. That includes those thoughts and feelings of doubt. The desire for increased faith, and the spaces in life where we need God to move in our lives and we are believing BIG for his miraculous hand.

Praying for faith should not be difficult. In fact, this should and can be the simplest prayer you pray. As simple as Father, Help! God does not look down on his children when they ask for faith, because in essence we are asking for more of him in our life.

Many times through heart break, deceit, and other woes of the world, we find ourselves in spaces where we don’t trust those around us, or ourselves. Perhaps it was infidelity in a relationship, or not feeling secure in childhood. Whatever the case may be when you pray for trust issues, pray that God would encourage you and remind you that if you have him, he can guide you to safe places!
Lord, I have been hurt in the past, I struggle to build connection or fellowship with those around me because I do not know who I can trust. Lord I ask that you would give me a discerning heart and mind and ears that hear you as you guide me to safe spaces. Show me those who you have put into my life.
Lord I know that oftentimes the answer to problems comes from you through others. Help me to have a soft heart, give me grace, give grace to those who I come in contact with. When our confidence is shaken it can be difficult to have the faith that trusts God. Praying for trust and confidence can not only boost your self-esteem but also remind you who you are in the Lord!
Lord in Heaven, the situations I have gone through have left me feeling lost and doubting what I am capable of. Your word says that I can do all things through you, but I admit, I doubt that you can use me. Lord, remind me who I am in you. Remind me of what your power is capable of. God’s love is unfailing and constant, so much so that he gave us the gift of eternal life through our savior Jesus Christ. Despite this very real truth, we are constantly bombarded with the lie that God doesn’t love us. A Prayer for steadfast faith
In scripture we are told that if you have just a little faith, in fact faith as small as a mustard seed then you can move mountains, and yet, there are times when a specific situation causes our faith wavering. Scriptures to pray for Faith
There are many scriptures in God’s word that talk about faith, but what scriptures can we pray to God as his living breathing word into and over our lives? Well I like to start with the promises of God. These are the things that he said that he would do and be in our lives, and because the Lord cannot lie, when you pray the scriptures and speak the power of his word using promises your faith is encouraged. Here are a few scriptures promises from the word of God you can pray into the situations of life where you need renewed, or improved faith.
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13
In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:6
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21
Jesus said to them, “Have faith in God! I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love. Ephesians 3:16-17
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6

The power of faith and prayer
Prayer is conversation between a loving Father and his doting child. It is also a weapon we have, direct access to our source of strength and peace. There is power in faith and prayer. When we pray and believe, even if it is believing for faith itself God is faithful to answer and to move!
