I also wanted to give you a few easy tips for using these templates and tackling your to do list. One of the biggest struggles many moms have is the struggle of the mental load! Managing all of the appointments and planning a household can take a toll on even the most put together mom.
Efficiently using a to do list can make all the difference! Here are some tips for effectively tackling your to do list
Know your priorities – When you have a clear understanding of your priorities, it becomes easier to set boundaries and manage your to-do list effectively. This clarity allows you to shift away from feeling obligated to do certain tasks and instead focus on what truly matters.
As a result, you can boost your productivity and achieve your goals more efficiently. Remember, by setting boundaries based on your priorities, you empower yourself to make intentional choices and allocate your time and energy in a way that aligns with your values and aspirations.
Write everything down – One of the biggest mistakes many of us make with our to-do list is not writing it down. Yes, we may have a memory that rivals that of an elephant, but memorizing a to do list can also be stressful. Write it down and save yourself the hassle.
Simplify – Simplify and declutter, not just your physical space, but also your heart and schedule. Trust me, by letting go of the excess, you’ll feel lighter and more in control. Your to-do list will become more manageable, and you’ll find a new sense of ease and clarity. Life’s demands won’t overwhelm you anymore. Instead, you’ll navigate through them with confidence and achieve a greater sense of fulfillment. Embrace the freedom that comes with letting go of the unnecessary and make room for what truly matters.
Prioritize rest with breaks – When planning out your to do list, be sure to create space for margins in between tasks. This will look like planned breaks (even 5-10 minutes) and a definitive stopping point for the day.
Delegate, Automate, and Outsource where you can – Another step to simplifying your to do list, is to delegate, automate, and outsource what you can. Just because you CAN do everything, doesn’t mean you have to do everything! It is more than okay to get some tasks off your plate and into the hands of help!
If you’re struggling with the mounting responsibilities of motherhood or want to be more productive without feeling like your head is about to explode, there are some simple adjustments that can help. We wrote a book on how we manage our time and tasks called Finding Time.
One of the most important things in this process was learning how to effectively use to do lists so it doesn’t feel overwhelming. You may have tried using them before only to find yourself overwhelmed again by all the tasks you still need to complete. But don’t worry! It’s not too late–we’ve got tips for you!
