22 Order my steps scriptures
What does “order my steps” mean? Well this thought is the idea that each step we take is directed and guided by someone or something. In our case, we are seeking and beseeching the Lord to be the one guiding our steps.
Which requires a lot of surrender on our part. This means allowing God to direct our plans.

Let’s take a deeper look at each of these scriptures that remind you your steps are ordered.
Psalm 119:133-136
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep thy precepts. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes. Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.
This King James Version scripture is likely the most commonly referenced scripture on the topic. I like to think of this scripture specifically as a prayer. When you don’t know what step to take, asking the Lord to Guide you.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
When we seek God’s guidance we can have faith and trust in the fact that he created us with a plan and a purpose, he is constantly guiding man’s steps in the right direction and we can be sure that he is guiding us along the best plan for our lives.
Psalm 143:8
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
Every morning we wake up is a new chance for us to surrender our wills and ways to the Lord. As we experience God’s goodness in each new morning we wake up to, we can take that trust with us as we allow him to order our steps.

Proverbs 24:27
Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house.
While most of these order my steps scriptures do speak specifically to the posture of our heart, this one speaks to what we should do actively while asking the Lord to order our steps. We must be prepared for what God has for us, that means doing the steps he has already given us to the best of our abilities.
He created us for good works, God’s word is clear as he orders our steps, our job is to listen to the Holy Spirit and walk along that path.
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.
This order my steps scripture is similar to the previous one and speaks to how we actively walk through each step the Lord gives us. While in some cases the steps of the Lord may not be understood by us, in many of them, God simply wants us to live the best life, the one he saw when he created us.
So his steps are all logical ways that we can steward well the blessings of health, and home that he bestoys upon us.
