Productivity does not mean that you have to do everything on your own in fact, one thing I have learned is the most productive moms are often the ones who delegate the best. This could be with chores, responsibilities at work or even tasks for your family.
Outsource and automate what you can so that busy tasks don’t take up hours of your day to complete a task that can be done by someone else!
2. Create a schedule by time blocking
Time blocking is a method of organizing your schedule where you decide how many hours of the day you want to work on certain tasks. For example, if you wanted to spend one hour answering emails each weekday then that is what your schedule would tell you to do!
This blocks out time for other things in your life as well. It allows you to be specific about where you are spending your time.
3. Stop Multitasking
One of the biggest myths in many of our productivity ideology is the thought that multitasking is beneficial. The truth is, multitasking is nearly impossible to do. When I think of multitasking, I often imagine my computer screen. At any given moment I have a million things I am working on up as different windows. However, I am never actually working on all of those things at the same time.
I am just shifting from one window to another, always having to readjust my thinking to the new tab and slowing down my system. Multitasking is so similar its scary. You are never really working on two things at once. Instead of multitasking, consider focusing on a single project and work that to an acceptable breaking point. Then move on to the next.
4. Set a definitive stop point
The last productivity tip for working moms is to set a definitive stopping point for your day as a whole. So often we as moms work until we essentially pass out. Trying to clean, cook, take care of the to do list. Remember, these tasks are essentially non stop, and there is always something extra that can get added to the list.
Rest is essential to productivity, but if you work non stop you never get the opportunity to recover. Set a point in the day, everyday where the list stops and the self-care/rest begins!

3. Save the energy sucking tasks for last
We all have those tasks that we know will throw our schedule off. Perhaps its reading emails from work. Maybe its doing laundry. Another thing that many of us are guilty of is not being realistic with our schedules. being productive assumes you are honest with yourself about the time it takes to complete tasks. When you aren’t honest and you overbook its easy to get behind and then discouraged because it looks like you are unproductive, when actually you were just unrealistic in the expectations you set.

This is one I really struggle with but tracking time actually helps me manage my schedule better than anything else. When I know how much time I spend on a task I can better decide what tasks need to be done and when.
