5 Powerful Prayers for Encouragement for Every Situation

This life we live can be tough. There are moments when we are on the heights of the mountaintops, but there are also days when we feel the weight of the valley experiences. In those moments we feel low, God has given us a gift of connection and prayer. In prayer we have one of the most powerful weapons against the plans of the enemy at our disposal. In prayer we can connect and reach out to the creator of the universe!

The beauty in prayer is we can not only pray to God for ourselves, but we can also pray to encourage others. In moments of dispair and depression in our friends and family, when we feel most helpless we can pray prayers for encouragement. In prayer we can lift up others to our father God.

I often write about prayer on this site as I know how important it is to our daily walks, but I am excited to share this post from a fellow Christian blogger, Annie Chikonjiwe whose mission is to encourage Christians in their walk. In this post she shares some powerful spirit filled prayers for encouragement!

How good of a Christian walk will it be if we didn’t live to become a living sacrifice to our father to use us as a reflection to his kingdom, how unbeneficial it can be to his kingdom if we chose to live a life that only glorifies us and never live to serve others as Jesus chose to serve the human race during his days on earth. As people of faith, we must always remember and make known to people that choosing to live in Christ means dying to oneself and living a life that serves others which means that the Christ spirit in us must increase and our fleshly desires must decrease John 3:30.

The kingdom of God comes with beautiful gifts that we can use to be of service to others and one that I will touch on today is the gift of prayer and encouragement to others. Our hope is these 5 prayers for encouragement will help strengthen you and keep you and remind you that someone is standing with you!

Why is praying for others important?

As believers we are given many ways to communicate with our father, but there is something just so unique and intimate about having to speak words that are directly from your heart and letting God know exactly how you feel in the present moment. Even better, when we pray for someone else, it really helps us form a bond with that person as well as let them feel how much we love and care for them which in turn makes them feel encouraged to pursue God which in turn can help encourage their faith in God.

As believers, we are graced with the spirit to intercede for others, which means that our faith alone to believe that God can move someone’s situation from bad to good. It really also helps give God encouragement to come through for the person as we see in the story of Jesus healing a paralyzed man in the book of Luke 5:17-26.

Praying prayers for encouragement for others is also fulfilling the New Testament commandment as James 5:16 NIV encourages us to:

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective”

This Christian walk was never to be done alone, this means we must have a personal and intimate relationship with the father but never keeping our relationship with him private among others so that at the end of it, all the glory goes to him and people become encouraged to pursue Him when they see our faith in him.

Praying for others makes them feel loved. There is something about interceding for someone that makes them feel accepted and loved because, it serves as confirmation that they too are important in the kingdom of heaven. The bible in the book of Ecclesiastes 4 vs 9-10 ESV that

“two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift

This verse reminds us that people get stronger in their Christian faith when they do it with other believers. Fellowship gives less chances for the enemy to attack their lives and if ever one’s faith gets weak at some point, it will be harder for them to stay down because they will have another person to lift them up and encourage them. The spirit of the Lord will serve as guidance as  promised in Matthew 18:20  NIV

“ For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them”

Encouraging Scriptures for Others

Perhaps you’re going through life’s challenges cause Lord knows we’ve all been through them at one point and we will all go through them and will continue to because live in an imperfect world and also being that we choose to live for Christ so attacks from the enemy be inevitable as John 10:10 NIV warns:

“The thief comes only to steal kill and destroy, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”.

So, it is important when you feel discouraged to stay rooted in scripture and know that it is only but a season that all trials and tribulations happen as they are only there to make us strong in our faith James 1:2-4. Praying for Encouragement

May this blog post help you seek the face of the Lord even stronger in spite of everything that is surrounding you at this present moment, I know times get difficult and in times like this, the devil tries to put us in isolation and tempts us to believe that God has lifted his hand off our lives, but I’m here to serve as encouragement and let you know that you are not alone. Whenever you feel alone in your faith or discouraged by what you are going through, cause let’s be honest and admit that sometimes we feel that no one will understand what we are dealing with and choose to stay quiet.

Be encouraged to know that whenever you feel that way believe that God will send help for you and they are community of people ready to share your pain and help you get through it by the grace of God.
