If you’ve been looking for a fresh start to your mornings, you’re in the right place! Start your mornings off the best way with these short powerful morning prayers with scripture.
If you are like me, morning times can be hectic! With little ones and a habit of consistently snoozing my alarm, my morning prayers are often rushed and in many cases non existent. For a long time I beat myself up about this and would constantly struggle to make the perfect morning prayer routine.
The problem was there is no “perfect” prayer routine for anyone who isn’t Jesus. What there is, is consistent giving it back to God and allowing him to create the space for us!
What my daily morning prayer routine has turned into is much more manageable for the season I am in, and it includes a lot of meditating on guided short morning prayers like the 23 presented in this post!
These short but powerful morning prayers with scriptures can be read quickly in the morning, and then meditated on throughout the day! They are written to fit seamlessly into the busiest of mornings! Let’s jump right in!

The Importance of Morning Prayers
The beautiful thing about this journey of growing closer to the Lord is the fact that any praise and worship that is sincere and rightly focused on the Lord is Good! So praising the Lord and morning prayer time may look different in your home than it does in mine, and both are okay!
We can use our prayer time in the morning to listen to praise music while we shower, or listen to a short morning devotional while we prepare lunches and get little ones ready for the day.
What’s most important is that we set the intention to praise God in the morning for what he has done, what he is doing, and what he will do and set the rest of the day on the right path!
How do I wake up in the morning to pray
This part of preparing morning prayer is tricky, BUT not impossible. Waking up in the morning on time to pray is easier when you have prepared the night before. Having a dedicated night time routine can help you in this regard!
This means picking out clothing, having quick and easy breakfasts and lunches picked out. It also means getting to bed earlier and minimizing the things that have to get done in the morning so that you have less excuse to skip the morning quiet time.
Morning Prayer Points
There are so many things that you can pray for and about first thing in the morning. In fact, any time you are intentional about taking time to spend quiet reflection in the presence of the Lord, the floor is essentially open. You can pray for things you need in the moment, or pray about things that the Lord brought to your attention in your dreams. You can pray for others, or simply spend time time in praise and worship to the Creator of the Universe while studying the word of God.
Here are a few additional Morning Prayer points:
- Pray for productivity
- Pray for safety
- Pray for provision
- Pray for your family and friends
- Praise God for getting you safely through the night
- Praise God in advance for the good things and blessings of the day
- Pray for boldness in your career field
- Pray for understanding in school
- Pray for peace in your place of employment
- Pray for Safe travels
- Pray for God’s guidance along your way today
These are just some of the things that you can include in your early morning prayer but I do want to add one additional prayer point. While it is wonderful to be able to ask God for anything, it is most important that you pray for an open heart and ears that hear what the Lord wants to say to you in your prayer time. Remember that prayer is a two way street. It is a conversation between a loving father and his dearly loved child, and that means as much as the Lord LOVES to have you share your life with him, he also loves to pour into you!
Morning Prayers and blessings to start your day
Praying to God in the morning is a great way to start your day. Taking the time to be intentional about quiet time with your heavenly father is a wonderful way to not only steward your spiritual health, but also to tune into your source of wisdom, strength, provision, and so much more! Save these morning prayers with scriptures to start off your morning meditation time with the Lord, and see how much more productive and impactful your days are!
Each prayer has an accompany bible verse from God’s word to help you focus on the Lord!

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:28-31
Pray this Prayer: Lord God, I know you are good and you are able to do miraculous things. I admit that I am going through rough times and my heart is heavy, but even still, I still bless you!
