What does the Bible say about praying for healing?

One of the most powerful names of God is Jehovah Rapha, God our healer. So often we see biblically God in himself and through Jesus healing those who come too him. Whether it is healing blind eyes, issues of blood, or mental illnesses, the Lord is in the business of healing his children.

This is encouraging to us because so many of us praying for healing for ourselves and those we love on a daily basis! One of the ways we can activate God’s healing power in our prayers is to pray scriptures for healing during our quiet time. When we pray scriptures we are activating the promises that the Lord has given us. Not only are we speaking truth that the Lord has already said yes to, but we are also encouraging ourselves and reminding ourself that there is nothing that our God can’t do.
